Blanchard Wells is proud to be working alongside our partners, PMC and Hyde Housing, on a vital housing development in Brighton. Our team is fully committed to the project, and we are working tirelessly to deliver 242 much-needed new homes for local people. The development comprises of six 5-7 storey blocks, which are being built into the sloping chalk landscape to provide low-cost homes that align with Brighton & Hove Council’s ‘City Housing Plan’.

Our brief is to manage the works from the initial site clearance through to the completion of all RC Frames and external works. By doing so, we are providing our partners PMC with the confidence they need to plan the following trades with certainty that all our key dates will be met, or even exceeded. This project represents a significant undertaking, and we are proud to be playing a role in addressing the urgent need for affordable housing in Brighton.

The project is in excess of £9m and the first phase has been delivered in 40 weeks after having moved 23000m3 of chalk and placed 11,500m3 of structural concrete to form six, 6-7 storey blocks of apartments, of which two storeys are split level. On one particular day in August 2021, we successfully removed 254 loads of chalk utilising 45 lorries on turnaround as a result of a challenge set by our CEO!
